RIVA DEI FRATI
Where the riva is steep, the bubbles are real.
In the heart of Prosecco Superiore, between Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene and Col San Martino, the Adami Merotto family cultivates Glera on slopes that belonged, eight centuries ago, to the Dominican friars of Treviso. From those steep rives — a UNESCO heritage — come sparkling wines of rare finesse, selected by ARS WINE for our collection of bubbles.
Eight centuries on the same riva
The lands of the Friars
Gualfredino from Col San Martino donated his best lands to the Dominican friars of Treviso, destined for the production of fine wines. From that slope — the riva — the winery’s name was born eight centuries later.
The Adami family
The Adami family started their winemaking activity in the Follo area of Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene, one of the most suitable areas of the entire denomination.
Riva dei Frati is born
Cesare Adami and Marisa Merotto founded the company, restoring the historic vineyards of Col San Martino to their former glory.
The rediscovered residence
A careful conservative restoration returns the historic residence to the Adami Merotto family, now the heart of hospitality among the Rive.

The name comes from an abbey forgotten by time and a steep slope where the grapes of the truest Prosecco refine their aroma.
